Arkeia Customers Reduce Cost and Complexity of VMware Backup
Arkeia Software, demonstrated Arkeia Network Backup v8.2 at VMworld 2010, in Booth #1725. VMworld 2010 is being held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. Arkeia Software, a leading provider of fast, easy-to-use, and affordable network backup solutions, announced that Arkeia customers and resellers are significantly reducing complexity and costs using Arkeia’s new backup agent based on VMware’s vStorage APIs for Data Protection (VADP).
“Before Arkeia Network Backup, deploying a single backup solution to protect both virtual and physical environments was complex and expensive, requiring a jumble of backup products glued together with custom scripting,” explains Alan Tucker, director of Business Computing and Network Services Ltd a technology consultancy west of London, UK.
“Arkeia’s backup agent for vStorage meshes seamlessly with Arkeia’s backup agents for physical platforms, including Linux and Windows,” said Fabiano Fraga, IT manager, ITS Group, a Brazilian system integrator.
“Our clients need solutions for both physical and virtual environments,” observes Steve Premeau, CTO of Premeau Enterprises, a data protection consulting firm that serves the educational institutions and small businesses in the Midwest. “They’re no longer limited to backup applications that serve VMware environments exclusively. Now, all of their data protection requirements are available in a single data protection solution: Arkeia Network Backup.
